BOOK SUMMARY
A humorous, thrilling debut novel about a girl who can fly and the institute for normalcy that wants to bring her down.
BOOK SYNOPSIS
You just cant keep a good girl down . . . unless you use the proper methods. Piper McCloud can fly. Just like that. Easy as pie. Sure, she hasnt mastered reverse propulsion and her turns are kind of sloppy, but shes real good at loop-the-loops. Problem is, the good folk of Lowland County are afraid of Piper. And her mas at her wits end. So it seems only fitting that she leave her parents farm to attend a top-secret, maximum-security school for kids with exceptional abilities. School is great at first with a bunch of new friends whose skills range from super-strength to super-genius. (Plus all the homemade apple pie she can eat!) But Piper is special, even among the special. And there are consequences. Consequences too dire to talk about. Too crazy to consider. And too dangerous to ignore. At turns exhilarating and terrifying, Victoria Foresters debut novel is an unforgettable story of defiance and courage about an irrepressible heroine who can, who will, who must . . . fly.
AUTHOR BIO
Victoria Forester lives in Los Angeles with her husband and ridiculously orange cat Rufus. She has spent most of her time writing screenplays and this is her very first book.
BOOK EXCERPTS
Piper decided to jump of the roof. It wasnt a rash decision on her part. This was her planclimb to the top of the roof and pick up speed by running from one end all the way to the other. Jump off. Finally, and most importantly, dont fall. She didnt make plans in the event that she did fall, because if you jump off the roof of your house and land on your head, you really dont need any plans from that point on. Even Piper knew that. So thats what she did. She jumped clean off her roof. But before we get to what happens next, youll probably need to know a thing or two about a thing or two. . . .
